WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL
YOUNG MAKERS MARATHON?
The school which organises the festival, BAI, tours
all over Europe with a short theatre piece.
In 2004 BAI, Bizkaia Theatre School and ACT Festival
with other four theatre festivals and schools started
out this project, the involved participants are: ITs
Amsterdam, ITs Brussels, Scarborough theatre students
Festival, Ostend Festival and Pend Fridge Festival from
Edinburgh (students section).
This way all together we created a show of short pieces
that this year will have its third edition.
This year new festival partners will join the International
Young Makers Marathon: Skena Up from Kosovo and FIST
(Belgrade).
All festival partners choose a performance to show a
work in the marathon tour and therefore each production
will be performed at each festival country in Europe.
The piece which represented BAI in the first edition
tour was Maria Ibarrtetxe´s and Patricia Fuentes´
work Txatxorras ´Cube. Last year
Saioa Fernandez and Unai Izquierdo´s piece Was
Monna Lisa una lampara? won the first award
New Spirit in Skena Up(Kosovo).
This year Elena Deyerre, David Quincoces and Gabi Reig
presents:
In solitude and madness…but in the mood
of talking

The International Young Makers Marathon (IYMM) will
have an even more international version in the 2006.
In collaboration with this group of prestigious international
festivals, ACT 2006 will bring even more short productions
from abroad.
In the 2005, the young makers Marathon made a tour all
over Europe visiting, apart from other places, such
Festivals as ITs Brussels and ITs Amsterdam, Scarborough
(England), Edinburgh (Scotland) , Brussels and Ostend
(Belgium), Skena Up (Kosovo), Brno (Czech Republic)
and FIST (Belgrade).
By this means the audience will have the unique opportunity
to see the new international talents for the future.
The productions are especially targeted to the young
audience all over the world and the quality of the works
is outstanding according to the previous years reviews.
For BAI students, the marathon is the first step to
make their dream come true: A professional and international
career.
In this 2006 students from BAI will visit these festivals
living an unforgettable experience
